The Emy McCarthy Blog: Congolese Brand Modahnik Unveils Spring/Summer 2014 Collection

Summer is almost here and all the FAB African designers are churning out exquisite collections. Congolese brand Modahnik has unveiled its Spring/Summer 2014 collection and we love the bold use of colours and vibrant prints.

Founded in 2009 by designer Kahindo Mateene, the Modahnik brand has put out a collection that truly calls out to Summer. The mix of vibrant colors with bold prints is combined to give an aesthetic collection. We also love the cuts of the different pieces showcased – we spot trends there like crop tops, pleats and more.

According to the brand, the collection is done as a vibrant color story, with African-influenced prints intermixed with modern styles for the sophisticated woman. The designs pay close attention to detail and are tailored to flatter a woman’s natural curves. The collection was inspired by the colors, shapes and forms of the Namib Desert.
