The Lao officials reported that the air plane transporting 49 people both French and Thailand citizens from Vientiane to Pakse town crashed few hours ago killing everyone on board.
The french foreign minister Laurent Fabius said that he had learnt of the deaths with "deep shock and great sadness", and that France was rushing embassy officials to the area where the crash had occurred.
It was confirmed by the foreign ministry spokesman Sek Wannamethee that all 49 people on board died,including 5 of Thais. Below is a photo from the crash.
